The Manager of Web Development will play a crucial role within the Customer Success department's Professional Services team, driving the design and implementation of career sites for our diverse clientele. This role demands a seasoned professional with 8-10+ years of advanced front-end development experience, capable of leading a team and fostering seamless collaboration with implementation and integration teams. The primary objective is to spearhead the delivery of exceptional career site development, ensuring client needs are not only met but consistently surpassed. This individual will be responsible for leading the team to deliver high-quality websites, managing projects, and maintaining a strong customer focus, while effectively communicating and coordinating across departments.
What you’ll be doing
Team Leadership & Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of front-end web developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide coaching and professional development opportunities to team members.
Project Oversight & Execution:
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of web development projects, ensuring they meet client requirements and are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to align web development efforts with project goals and timelines.
Technical Guidance & Solution Design:
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on web development best practices, architecture, and technology stack.
  • Ensure the development of scalable, secure, and high-performance web solutions that meet client needs and industry standards.
Client Engagement & Support:
  • When necessary, work with clients to understand their web development requirements, providing expert advice and solutions that align with their business objectives.
  • Address and resolve any technical issues or challenges that arise during the development process, ensuring client satisfaction.
Process Improvement & Best Practices:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, streamlining workflows, and enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the web development team.
  • Develop and implement best practices, standards, and guidelines for web development, ensuring consistent quality and performance.
Documentation & Reporting:
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive technical documentation, including project specifications, code reviews, and deployment procedures.
  • Prepare and present reports on project status, team performance, and key metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
What you’ll bring:
Skills:
  • Strong understanding of web development technologies and frameworks, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, Next.js and modern web development tools.
  • Experience with web development platforms and content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Tina.io).
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards achieving project goals.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to address technical challenges and implement effective solutions.
