We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of BI (Business Intelligence) to join our analytics team. As a BI Manager, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and efficient BI solutions that provide actionable insights to support decision-making across the organization. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, data scientists, and other IT teams to gather requirements, design data models, build data pipelines, and develop interactive dashboards and reports. This position reports to the Director of Business Intelligence. The individual will remain abreast of current technology trends and provide Data Engineering thought leadership. Additionally, this role works with the IT Management team to determine, track, and manage the IT budget and project delivery.

What You Will Do:  

  • Business Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their reporting and analytical needs. Conduct thorough analysis of business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and develop data models and metrics to meet those requirements
  • Data Modeling and Integration: Design and develop data models that support efficient data integration, transformation, and aggregation. Work closely with data engineers to define and implement data pipelines and ETL processes to extract data from various sources and transform it into usable formats
  • BI Tool Selection and Configuration: Evaluate and recommend appropriate BI tools and technologies that align with business needs and objectives. Configure and customize BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) to ensure optimal performance, data visualization, and user experience
  • Dashboard and Report Development: Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that provide meaningful insights to business users. Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of the data presented in the dashboards and reports
  • Data Quality and Validation: Implement data validation checks and data quality measures to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the data used in BI solutions. Collaborate with data engineers and data governance teams to identify and resolve data quality issues
  • Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of BI solutions, including query performance, data loading times, and report generation. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to provide fast and reliable access to data
  • User Training and Support: Conduct training sessions and provide user support to business stakeholders on utilizing BI tools and accessing and interpreting the data provided by the BI solutions. Address user inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and ensure user adoption of BI solutions
  • Data Security and Governance: Collaborate with data governance and IT security teams to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Implement access controls, data encryption, and data masking techniques to protect sensitive information
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts, to ensure seamless integration of data and alignment of data-driven initiatives. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements, explain technical concepts, and present insights
  • Continuous Learning and Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the field of business intelligence and analytics. Continuously enhance your technical skills and contribute to the improvement of BI practices and processes within the organization

What You’ll Bring:   

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience working as a BI Analyst or in a similar role, preferably in a senior or lead capacity
  • Strong expertise in business intelligence concepts, methodologies, and tools
  • Proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data integration, and ETL processes
  • Advanced SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation
  • Experience with data visualization best practices and techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams
  • Familiarity with data governance, data security, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as (e.g., Python, Java, R)
